The nation can finally stop pondering over Why Kattappa Killed Baahubali?
Take a bow Rajamouli and team. The film is grand and glossy from the word go and Prabhas who plays the dual role has given his heart and soul to the movie. Be it fight scenes or romance delivering right performance is delivered at the right time. Rana Daggubati, the is back as Bhallaladeva with a more menacing avatar. A special mention needs to be made about his physique (ahem!).
The plot is a prequel to Baahubali: The Beginning. The story zoops us back to the childhood of Bahu and Bhalla. Bhallaladeva is eternally jealous of his blood-brother Amarendra Baahubali, because of obvious reasons. His mother Sivagami`s partiality towards Bahu pushes him off the edge. Bhallaladeva brews a wicked plot against his brother to become the king of Mahishmati and has him killed by Katappa. He even imprisons Devasena (Baahubali`s wife) the future queen of Mahishmati. Years later, Mahendra Baahubali`s son Amarendra Baahubali and heir to the throne, returns to avenge his father`s death.
Anushka Shetty brings in pure valour and strength to her character and emerges triumphant. Tamannaah gets limited screen space this time. Ramya Krishnan aristocratic as the last instalment shines as the queen mother Sivagami. Sathyaraj uses his piercing eyes to convey intensity and owns every sequence he’s in. Nassar is ruthlessly manipulative and Subbaraju, playing the part of Kumar, is unmistakably earnest. The background score is sure to give you goosebumps every now and then. The music, though not an equal to the first part, manage to be decent. Seeped in Indian ethos, the action-fantasy-drama is a must watch for cine-goers. Directed by S. S. Rajamouli, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, hit the theatres on 28 April 2017.
