Bhumi Pednekar, who put on weight for her debut film "Dum Laga Ke Haisha", says she was not body-shamed for her weight during the shoot for her film. The actress shed the extra flab and ahead of her releases Toilet: Ek Prem Katha says that men in the country have slowly begun to change their attitudes towards women.
Bhumi also says that she feels equally beautiful even when she was of a fuller size. She had begun her career as an assistant casting director with Yash Raj Films, which ultimately launched her. Bhumi hails from a middle-class family and hence finding feet in the industry was of supreme importance. Her big break made it easy for her to play roles which are different than mainstream movies.
She also feels that her debut in Bollywood came at the right time considering the kind of films that are being made today.
