The 16th edition of the Los Angeles Indian Film Festival (IFFLA) which is to be held from 11th to 15th of April this year has decided to give a monumental tribute to the first female superstar of Bollywood, Srideviby screening her biggest blockbuster movie Chandni for her immense contribution to the Indian Cinema industry. The prestigious film festival will show a 2k print of the movie Chandni. The Indian Film festival will open with the movie “The Shadows” starring Manoj Bajpayee and will end with the movie “Village Rockstar” starring Raima Sen.
This year IFFLA will also screen short films like “An Essay of the Rain” by Ben Rekhi, “The Ashram” starring Kal Penn, “Ask the Sexpert” by Vaishali Sinha, “The Hungry” starring Naseeruddin Shah and Tisca Chopra, “Omerta” by Hansal Mehta and “Kadvi Hawa” by Nila Madhab Panda.
Over 12 languages of movies will be shown this year and for the first time, 11 woman filmmakers are also included in the list, thus empowering the concept of female power. IFFLA will feature 4 World Premiere, 14 Los Angeles Premiers and 2 US Premiere this year. Various noted filmmakers and actors including the likes of Hansal Mehta, Vaishali Sinha, Nila Madhab Panda and Sushama Deshpande will attend the festival.
