As you all know that 2017 has been a great year for Rajkummar Rao, and not such a great one for Shraddha Kapoor. Her last few releases, including "OK Jaanu", "Half Girlfriend" and "Haseena Parkar", failed to elicit expected response. Maybe some of Rajkummar’s luck would rub off on Shraddha, as they are coming together in what the source describes as the “spookiest horror to have ever been made in Bollywood”. After teasing us with multiple tweets, Rajkummar Rao has finally revealed the title and important details about his next movie with Shraddha Kapoor. Yes! Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor took their twitter handle to announce the name of their upcoming horror comedy "Stree."

According to a statement released by the film’s production house, Shraddha will play a small town girl with a mystery surrounding her character. Apart from their fresh pairing, the makers have claimed that this is “unique role” and is one which the actress has not attempted before.

The film has been written by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK and will be produced by Dinesh Vijan through his company Maddock Films. This will be the second collaboration between Raj and DK, and Vijan after the 2013 Zom-com a.k.a zombie comedy Go Goa Gone, starring Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, and Vir Das. The makers are decided Amar Kaushik the director for the project. Kaushik had assisted the writers on Go Goa Gone and recently assisted Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi on Beyond the Clouds (2017). Kaushik has previously made the short film, Aaba, set in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh. Aaba was showcased at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2017 in November.

Shraddha is currently busy shooting for Prabhas starrer `Saaho` and is also prepping for Amole Gupte’s Saina Nehwal biopic. Meanwhile, Rajkummar is busy with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s `Fanney Khan` alongside Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
