Padmaavat prior titled `Padmavati`, had been buried in unlimited controversies as far back as its announcement and as a result, had been put off by almost two months. After much deferral, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film at last found a release date on January 25, 2018, and has been breaking records from that point onward. The film features Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh has been applauded by the critics and the audience alike.

As per the report on, the film has rounded up an expected Rs 18.50 crore at the ticket window on Day 11 of its release. The film which opened at Rs 18 crore has gathered Rs 43.50 crore on its second end of the week. Gathering an astounding Rs 212.50 crore, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film’s box office collection has crossed the coveted Rs 200 crores mark in a matter of 11 days.

The Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer is performing astoundingly well on its second end of the week as it gathered a deafening Rs 16 crore on its second Saturday and Rs 20 crore on its second Sunday.

The story of the film rotates around Rani Padmavati - the spouse of Maharawal Ratan Singh, who is known for her magnificence and valour in thirteenth century India. She catches the fancy of the dominant Sultan of Delhi, the tyrant Alauddin Khilji, who winds up noticeably obsessed with her and puts everything on the line to satisfy his ravenousness.
