Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the joint venture of Salman Khan and Kabir Khan has hit rough waters in Pakistan. In spite of the overwhelming response to the film in the neighboring country, the chairman of Pakistan’s Central Board of Film Censors, Fakhr-e-Alam, has received and continues to receive anonymous hate tweets for extending his support to the film on Twitter. Alam has also come under the scanner for giving clearance to a lot of Indian films, of late.
While several quarters feel the film promotes anti-Pakistan sentiments, others are infuriated at the release of Indian films in Pakistani theatres. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is going strong in Pakistani theatres with packed houses despite protests. Alam, in spite of receiving death threats online, is not backing out from his decision to give a go-ahead to the Salman Khan starrer.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan has been doing brisk business, not just in India but overseas as well. Keeping in view the hostile sentiments from some quarters, security has been beefed up in Pakistani theatres.
