One must be open to experimenting with genres instead of sticking to one.” Zafar added, “To keep up with the current landscape, it is important to keep rediscovering the superstar that Salman Khan is. It is imperative that as a writer, I give him the material that enables him to discover new dimensions while portraying his character.”

Ali Abbas Zafar also revealed that Salman not only has cinematic knowledge but is also well read. “Salman harbours new ideas. Couple that with the years of experience he has and you’ll realise he’s a powerhouse of knowledge. He watches contemporary movies, documentaries and shows spanning language. His conversations on movies are evolved because he is constantly learning. When you sit and have a conversation with him, you realise the extent of knowledge he has. It isn’t limited to the cinema alone, but extends to socio-political topics too.”

Korean movie Ode To My is about a father and a son. Separated during wartime North Korea, a man (Hwang Jeong-min) longs to reunite with his father and sister. A very endearing and touching film about a man`s sacrifices in his dream to fulfil his promise to his father.

Talking about the movie producer Atul Agnihotri said, “It’s the journey of a country and also a person, both of whom go by the name of Bharat.” Talking about officially acquiring the rights of the Korean film for the remake, he said, “That film is just the starting point for ours but since it was an inspiration, we wanted in all fairness to officially own it and acquired the remake rights before going ahead with Bharat.”

Revealing more about the movie, Atul stated, “We will be shooting in Abu Dhabi and Spain, besides Punjab and Delhi in India. Casting will be our main agenda over the next three months and since it’s a character-driven story, we will take actors who fit the part. It won’t be about getting names together but will be honest in its depiction”.
