Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat made it to the top ranks amongst villains in Bollywood..correction..anti-heroes. He gnarls, gnaws and roars! He has redefined `menacing`. Ranveer has breathed life into the character in ways no actor before him ever did. And man, did he prepare extensively for the role!!

Biggest Risk Ever

Critics and fans who`ve watched Padmaavat praised Ranveer Singh`s portrayal of Alauddin Khilji. Ranveer has the track record of acing all his roles ever since he entered the film industry, there`s no doubting that. However, the Ramleela actor was a little apprehensive playing the part of an anti-hero. "Playing Alauddin Khilji in `Padmaavat` was the biggest of my career," says the 33-year-old actor who celebrates his birthday today.

The actor could not quite relate to the ambitions and greed of the character. Getting into the skin of such a menacing character and putting on the robes of a merciless Sultan seemed quite challenging at the first glance.

The Bajirao Mastani star who believes there’s no end to what you can achieve said human capabilities are limitless. And he proved it like no actor ever did. We sure agree.
