Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy shoot starts

Finally Gully Boy featuring Ranveer and Alia, to be directed by Zoya Akhtar, went on floors in Mumbaai.

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are working together for the first time for the Zoya Akhtar directed upcoming film `Gully Boy`. The pair has been snapped a few times preparing for the film these past days. Presently, as indicated by the most recent reports, actress Kalki Koechlin has been brought onboard for the film and will be playing the character of a rapper. While we have seen her rap on social causes for different videos, this will be the first occasion when she will play a rapper on-screen.

Co-star Ranveer retweeted her post, while director Zoya Akhtar shared an image from the sets of the movie. The filmmaker also took to her Instagram page to share a photo of `Gully Boy`s clapper to start Day 1 of the shoot. This is Ranveer`s second collaboration with Zoya. The first movie they had worked on together was `Dil Dhadakne Do`.

Farhan Akhtar, who is also the producer of the film also wished his sister good luck as he tweeted, "And it begins.. Day 1 of #GullyBoy. All the best Zoya @aliaa08 @RanveerOfficial & team." `Gully Boy` is inspired by the lives of Mumbai street rappers Divine and Naezy.

A release date for upcoming film Gully Boy hasn`t been finalised as of yet.

The film which is propelled by the lives of Mumbai road rappers Divine and Naezy will supposedly begin rolling from today. The film will be shot in various parts of Mumbai, particularly Dharavi. It appears Zoya has just begun recording for the film as she was snapped at a music studio in Mumbai. This will be the second trip of Kalki and Ranveer with Zoya Akhtar after `Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara` and `Dil Dhadakne Do` respectively.
