Padmaavat Box-office Collection: Movie Set to be a Blockbuster!
Feb 5, 2018
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Magnum Opus Padmaavat has
been an unstoppable juggernaut. Ever since its release, the epic period drama
has been the most anticipated film ever released. The order and chaos
surrounding the film have garnered huge attention from the public. For this
reason, Padmaavat has been performing outstandingly in the cinemas.
On Day 8, Padmaavat minted around ₹10.25 crore
taking the collection past ₹150 crore mark.
The film has already proved to be a
blockbuster and has been well received by the critics and audience. The
box-office collection could go higher if the fringe groups withdraw their
protests for the film to be released in the states it has been banned.
As tweeted by Taran Adarsh, a leading trade analyst,
the film has entered the second week with a BANG! The motion picture is expected
to cross ₹200 mark and the lifetime collections of Bajirao Mastani. The film
collected ₹10 crore on Friday making the toll to ₹176 crore.
Padmaavat has been running high in the box-office
since Akshay postponed PadMan release date by two weeks. The film was released
amidst violent protests from Karni Sena. Various cinema theatres in several
states refused to screen the movie fearing vandalism. Had it been a smooth
release, the Deepika-Ranveer-Shahid starrer could have easily crossed ₹200
crore in the opening weekend itself.
Padmaavat will run unaffected as the next big
releases are releasing on 9th February.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khanpraised the film and referred
to Ranveer Singh as Khilji. SRK replied to Ranveer’s earlier tweet, “Hi Bhai,
Anxious for you to see ‘Padmaavat’.” Mr. Khan tweeted: “So sorry did not
realize it was you, because now you are Khilji to me. Bahut acchi picture hai bhai. I saw it and loved it.”
