“Meet Mr. Won Chung Tong from China. He has the record of the oldest person on earth. I’ll break his record!”
102 Not Out is a family comedy movie starring Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles, helmed by Umesh Shukla, director of OMG! Oh My God! The movie depicts the father-son bond which is beautifully portrayed by both the actors. The plot of the movie revolves around the two grey haired folks among whom Amitabh Bachchan is the father and Rishi Kapoor is his 75-year-old son. Amitabh Bachchan is a lover of his life and wants to enjoy it as much as possible. On the other hand, his son Rishi Kapoor is very serious about his life. Both of them are absolutely opposite to each other’s characters. The role that Big B portrays is quite similar to his Piku character but it has a Gujarati twang.
The trailer starts with Amitabh Bachchan’s lines, “Meet Mr. Won Chung Tong from China. He has the record of the oldest person on earth. I’ll break his record!” who is already 102 (as the name of the movie suggests) but his son finds it absolutely rubbish and utters "I have accepted my old age,". Big B addresses his son as “Thakela pakela boring insaan," because of his boring way of life and decides to send him to an old age home. He also makes his son write a love letter to his wife. At the end there comes the emotional scene when Rishi Kapoor stands in front of a church and recalls what his father taught him about childhood and its innocence.
The movie looks like a complete package of comedy, emotion and other spices in it. The story is based on a Gujarati play written by Saumya Joshi. The movie is produced by Treetop Entertainment, Benchmark Pictures, and Sony Pictures Entertainment India. Music is given by Salim–Sulaiman. The movie releases on 4 May 2018.
