Hey Ram Hamne Gandhi Ko Maar Diya directed by Naeem Siddiqui hit the theatres on March 1. The movie is Siddiqui`s directorial debut and is quite a tedious ballad on Bapu. The story revolves around Mahatma Gandhi’s ideologies.

Though technically well-mounted, the movie disappoints as a period drama. The plot though well manufactured, might seem a little too theatrical at times. This is probably to emphasize the period in question.

"The whole objective around this film is to spread a message of non-violence across the world. If was similar conditions during those days what the world is facing today - fear and violence in the name of religion, caste and racism." added the Hey Ram Hamne Gandhi Ko Maar Diya director.

Our film is an example of art and cinema expressing its message in a cinematic format,” added  Shanti Bhushan Roy, the cinematographer. The background score by Anup Bhat is light and melodious.

Written by Naeem, the film stars Jatin Goswami, Pratima Kannan, Sameeksha Bhatnagar and Subrat Dutta. `Hamne Gandhi Ko Maar Diya` is produced under the banner of  Touchwood Multimedia Creations and released by Indian Film Studios.
