Bollywood industry has been a land of opportunities for many aspiring actors and actresses. Some individuals get a chance to start their career at a very tender age to become successful Bollywood celebs. The performances of these child artistes grab the attention of the critics as well as the public. Some choose different career paths after they grow up, while some choose the path of glitz and glamour.

Here’s a list of Bollywood celebrities who started their career as child artistes:

Sridevi


The Ultimate Diva of Bollywood started her career at a very young age. Sridevi was four when she forayed into the world of cinemas. She debuted as a child artist with the Tamil Film ‘Kundan Karunai’ in the year 1967. She is dubbed as one of the iconic people in the Indian film industry.

Aamir Khan


The Perfectionist of Bollywood, Aamir Khan made his Bollywood debut as a child artist in Nasser Hussain’s hit film ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’ in the year 1973.

Rishi Kapoor


Rishi Kapoor belongs to the famous Kapoor clan of Bollywood. He was in his late teens when he fetched the role of young Raj Kapoor in the classic film ‘Mera Naam Joker’.

Hrithik Roshan


The Greek God of Bollywood was only six when he made a debut in the film industry with the film ‘Aasha’. He has done numerous minor roles in his father’s films.

Sanjay Dutt


The infamous Sanju Baba is one of the iconic figures in Bollywood. He started his career as a child artist in the movie ‘Reshma Aur Shera’.

Urmila Matondkar


Urmila faced the camera for the first time at the age of 9. The ‘Rangila’ actress debuted as a child artist in the highly acclaimed movie ‘Masoom’ in 1983.

Shahid Kapoor


Before entering into the film industry, Shahid made his on-screen appearance in television commercials. Many may not know, but the cute ‘Complan’ boy in television screen in the 90s was, in fact, Shahid Kapoor. Later he joined Shiamak Davar’s dance academy and appeared as background dancers in many hit films like ‘Taal’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ and more.

Bobby Deol


The ‘Soldier’ actor made his debut as a child artist in the movie ‘Dharam Veer’ at age 10. He played the young Dharmendra in the movie.

Kunal Khemu


Kunal debuted in ‘Gul Gulshan Gulfam’, a TV series in 1987. He started his journey in Bollywood with Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sir’ and went on to grab roles in hit movies like ‘Raja Hindustani’, ‘Zakhm’, ‘Bhai’ and more.
