Trust me, I may sound weird here, but there are innumerable iconic Bollywood movies which give us the best travel and vacation goals. Watching these type of Bollywood movies, will not only give you the adrenaline rush to visit the place sooner than later but you can also get familiar with the culture and the type of people living there (At Least some information).
Let us see the all time best Bollywood movies based on travel and vacation. Hope, it may provide some insight to all the travel enthusiastic people.
This movie is probably the best movie ever made on the concept of travel and vacation. With three friends, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol going to Spain for a bachelor party, hosted by Abhay Deol, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara beautifully picturised every tourist locations of Spain. Weather it is the never-ending, cool, calm and lazy road travel, or the deep sea driving, or the Tomatina festival, this movie has highlighted what a tour with friends should ideally be. Not to forget the running of the bulls competition or the Parachuting which literally gave me goosebumps.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, 1995 -
Let us rewind back to some 2 and half decades ago to witness the most romantic Bollywood movie ever made. Yes DDLJ gave us the most iconic lovable characters of Raj and Simran. It also gave us the most romantic and charming Bollywood actor, Shah Rukh Khan along with the best ever onscreen pair of SRK and Kajol. But with all these things, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge also gave us the glimpse of Europe as a travel destination. In fact, after DDLJ Europe became one of the hot favorite tourist destinations for Indian people. The beautiful picturesque landscape of Europe covered either by greenery or by the coat of snow was captured with the romantic chemistry of Raj and Simran. And for the ones, who love our pure Indian mitti, the movie showed the enchantic farming fields of Punjab with the real Indian culture and tradition.
Why travel abroad when we can find breathtaking sceneries and views in India. Imtiaz Ali is always known for shooting in beautiful places, but Highway stands out to be his best work as a director till date. (Yes, there is Rockstar and Jab We Met). This is because with an odd yet refreshing and cute onscreen pair of Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda, the film beautifully showcased the desire of a High Class society girl to live her life in the freshness of open air which was supported with the beautiful road trip of Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Pahalgam.
Jab We Met, 2007 -
Here comes yet another masterpiece of Imtiaz Ali when it comes to showcasing the beautiful tourist places in India through travel and journey . Although, the movie is an out and out love story between the characters of Geet (Kareena Kapoor) and Aditya (Shahid Kapoor), Jab We Met never fails to portray the beautiful cities and even the villages of India including places like Bhatinda, Manali, Shimla, Ratlam, Punjab, Mumbai, Rohtang in its entire duration of some 2 and half hours.
Dil Chahta Hai, 2001 -
Friends….. We haven’t met for a long period of time???? Let`s make a plan to visit Goa!!!! Probably visiting Goa with your bunch of best friends is one of the most important things that you have planned to do at least once in your lifetime. Well, where this craze of Goa with friends came from??? Yes, it was the movie Dil Chahta Hai featuring Aamir Khan, Akshay Khanna and Saif Ali Khan that set the travel goal to Goa with friends for the entire generation of people along with its preceding ones. Showcasing of the beautiful friendship among the lead characters by chilling in every possible tourist locations of Goa made Dil Chahta Hai an iconic travel movie.
With friendship, romantic relationships, wedding ceremonies, conquering one’s dream and ambition goes side by side in this movie, it also shows us the snow clad mountain of Gulmarg, the beautiful small town of Manali, the rich traditions of Rajasthan and some mesmerizing locations of Europe.
London Paris New York, 2012 -
The name of the film ideally suggest the beautiful Locations where it has been shot. A blossoming love story between the two lead characters starts in London, strengthens in Paris and finally becomes official in New York. The movie nevers fails to show us the iconic places of these three cities including the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
It’s a Hat Trick for Imtiaz Ali!!!! But its natural as Imtiaz never fails to mesmerize our eyes with some alluring locations, whether in India or abroad. Though, Tamasha did not do well commercially, the movie however brought the image of the happy Corsica for the Indians. Even, the way Tamasha beautifully depicted Hauz Khas village in Delhi, probably no other movie or director could have done justice to the soothing yet energetic addiction of the place.
Probably, no other Bollywood movie ever showcased the details of the luxuries of Cruise Ship journey as Dil Dhadakne Do did. Along with that, the movie gave us beautiful sceneries of Turkey, Spain and Tunisia.
Ever had a road travel within the metro cities of India??? If not, then Piku will surely give the vibes of a long road drive with your family or friends in the long and somewhat deserted highways of India. Piku which beautifully showcased the relationship between a father and a daughter is also memorable for its road trip between Kolkata to Delhi with Varanasi coming as a stoppage centre.
