Ajay Devgn’s Raid adds nawabi taste with the local actors

Ajay Devgn’s content driving film ‘Raid’ has already gathered much appreciation for its punching dialogues and unique storyline. The upcoming crime drama movie is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta featuring Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz, Saanand Verma and Saurabh Shukla. The movie surely will make you remind of Special 26. But what gives a spark to it is the involvement of the renowned lucknowi actors giving it a nawabi flavor. With their effective and spellbinding performance, they have not only startled and impressed everyone but are giving a very realistic look at the movie.
The director states,”I have always believed in casting theatre actors as they bring a lot to films. I try to cast actors from the place where the film is set as it brings in flavor and authenticity. And Raid is set in Lucknow, which has an active theatre scene and talented actors.”
Raidis based on a real-life story which involves one of the highest profiles and longest income tax raids ever known. Set in 1980’s, the movie revolves around Amay Patnaik, a fearless Income Tax Officer who carries a non-stop raid at all the firms and business owned by Tauji, a very powerful man in Lucknow.
The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathai. The script is written by Ritesh Shah, who was also associated in movies like Pink and Airlift.
The movie is going to be released on 16 March 2018.
