Neeraj Pandey directed, Sidharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee, and Rakul Preet starrer Aiyaary hit the theatres today on February 16 after facing continuous wrath of CBFC.

Neeraj has previously directed films like A Wednesday!, Special 26, and Baby. Looks like he has become a champion of sorts of gripping thrillers about men-in-uniform! In Aiyaary, Neeraj brings to limelight the story of India’s ex-army officer Jai (Sidharth Malhotra) who tries to oust one of the country’s confidential matters. Playing this nemesis is the ‘purana Khiladi’ as they say, from Neeraj’s batch of stellar actors — Manoj Bajpayee. To be honest! the patriotic sentiment on Republic Day (Aiyaary’s previous release date) better suited for the film’s release, isn`t it?

The continuous postponing of a film’s release date has its cons. Anyways! A good film always manages to deliver its appeal to the audience. For example of how audiences rushed in a mass to the theaters to watch the magnum opus Padmaavat despite it being the constant controversy child. Aiyaary hoping a collection of Rs 4.5 crore on the day of release due to Friday-release and if supported by solid reviews it could even bag a whopping collection of Rs 15 crore by its first weekend.

The spreading patriotic vibes will add to the appeal of the film among audiences. Neeraj Pandey always delivers excellent contents to the audiences. How can we forget the power of reviews? Once words reaches out, there would be no stopping of the audiences.

February 16 is also the release date of Marvel’s much-awaited film Black Panther which has been creating buzz around the internet since the day of it`s release. You already know that how widespread reception of the previous super-hero flicks like Wonder Woman and Thor: Ragnarok in the country was! Black Panther will definitely give strong competition to Aiyaary.

Aiyaary will have to compete against Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s Padmaavat, which is performing well despite this being in its third week, and even after the release of Akshay Kumar’s PadMan. Worthwhile content and a solid word of mouth have always worked wonders for films! Let`s hope for the best now.
