Directed by Zoya Akhtar, family dynamics have found a place in Dil Dhadkne Do. Whether it is through gender bias which is an undercurrent in most Indian families but is hardly realized, to the extra-marital affairs and the chauvinism that exists in marriages, regardless of the status, the film has tried to put all of it together with a huge star cast.
Dil Dhadkne Do has traced many facets of human behavior and how biases form a part of how people interact. The stereotypes and hypocrisies of a family are laid bare while the relationship between parents and children are shown from a closer angle revealing the many sides of the complicated relationship they share. Though the film caters to a particular sub-section of the audience, these familial issues might be relatable.
